This bill would repeal Sec. 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act. This involves censorship of the Internet by government bureaucrats. Over the past 14 years, CAFÉ has been actively involved in fighting the totalitarian features of this ill-conceived piece of legislation. We’ve had intervener status at three tribunals and several offshoot “judicial reviews” before the courts. I have also acted as a “representative” for nine people or organizations charged under Sec. 13. It was sad to see well-meaning, opinionated Canadians, most of them ordinary people with modest or no means, dragged through an abuse-by-process, where truth was no defence, intent was no defence, and where, until the Lemire decision in 2009, no victim/defendant had ever been found not guilty. That’s the sort of legal record normally found only in tyrannies like North Korea. Perhaps, it’s the fact that truth is no defence that makes this legislation most offensive. The threshold to offend is laughably low: communication over the Internet “likely to expose” certain groups “to hatred or contempt.” The Commission doesn’t have to prove anyone was ever moved or influenced by what was posted. Hatred is hard enough to define, but “contempt” would be any negative feeling that might be created against a privileged group. Thus, certain groups become almost immune to criticism. This is not healthy in a democracy. The unhealthy and repressive mindset of the Canadian Human Rights Commission became shockingly clear in 2007, when a senior “hate case” investigator testified, when asked what weight he gave to free speech when investigating Internet postings: “None. Free speech is an American concept.” I know you and I beg to differ. Free speech is very much a Canadian concept and precious value. It’s time for Sec. 13 to be repealed and for expression on the Internet in Canada to be a bit safer from would be censors with a politically correct agenda they’d like to impose. Sincerely yours, Paul Fromm Director |

November 5, 2011. Samm Tittle admittedly is a long shot candidate fr the Republic Presidential nomination, but she wowed a group of White Nationalists today at the Fall Board meeting of the Council of Conservative Citizens (CoCC). "I am standing up for the White man," Miss Tittle announced. "Never again will the race card be pulled by Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton," she vowed. President Obama, she charged, "is an avowed socialist. We're going to cut foreign aid, bring the soldiers home, put America first, and put American families first." "I'm proud of my Southern heritage and proud of my Confederate flag," she proclaimed. "You're not going to find Samm Tittle being politically correct. Samm will bring about the repeal of Martin Luther King Day." To enthusiastic applause Miss Tittle insisted: "We need a five year moratorium on immigration. We should stop all illegal immigration and return to the 1952 Immigration and Naturalization Act." The candidate wants Congressional term limits and wants to see Congressional perks and salaries slashed, just as many American workers have seen their wages cut. A member of the CoCC, Miss Tittle strongly opposes anti-White affirmative action and quotas. She insists on "equal rights for all; special privileges for none." Samm Tittle was born of a Spanish aristocrat mother and a Texan in El Paso. She declares herself a strong supporter of Right to Life: "Stop the slaughter of the unborn. "I'm a strong supporter of States Rights," she adds, "and I will support and appoint only strict constructionist judges who will follow the Constitution and interpret it based on its original intent." Samm Tittle's slogan is "Fighting to save America's majesty." Flashing her engaging smile, the candidate concedes she faces an uphill battle to get better known and on the ballot. For instance, to get on the Republican primary ballot in Alabama alone required 500 signatures -- not a big hurdle -- and a $10,000 fee. _________________________________________-- Samm Tittle, www.Madame ( http://www.madame/ ) President2012.com; 5312 MacCorkle Ave., SW, Box 309 Charleston WV, 25309, U.S.A.; (202)-316-6278 ( tel:%28202%29-316-6278 ) _____________________________ Unsubscribe / Change Profile: http://ymlp270.net/u.php?id=gmjhqsqgsgbbqgubm Powered by YourMailingListProvider |
